On Saturday 1st August Suttons Seeds opened their trial grounds to the public, specifically families and children. The day went very well with a constant stream of visitors enjoying the schedule of talks and events as well as taking the opportunity to wander around the extensive working trials of vegetables, flowers and fruit. The schedule for the day included a nutritional presentation from Tom Sharples the Suttons Marketing Manager, a children’s cooking demonstration and tasting session, Vegetable Carving from Paignton Allotment Society and a Seed Sowing Demonstration from The Trial Ground Manager Toby Connabeer. Children were shown how to sow Nasturtium seeds and took these home with them. All donations taken throughout the day at the door and for face painting were in aid of Children’s Hospice South West.
Next weekend, on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th August, will see Suttons Trial Grounds playing host once again to the public, all donations will be in aid of the Children’s Hospice South West , both days the wonderful music of the Jazz Trilogy will floating out over our grounds on both Saturday and Sunday, and we will also be holding a barbeque (courtesy of Fermoys) of which all proceeds will go once again to Children’s Hospice South West.
