Suttons Family Gardening Day

Calling all keen gardeners – Suttons Seeds announce their open days this summer!
If you know your Polyanthus from your Petunia and your Chrysanthemum from your Carnation and perhaps have always wanted to find out more about developing new varieties of flowers, fruit and vegetables, then now is your chance with the upcoming Suttons Seeds Family Day and the Open Weekend in August which will be raising vital funds for Children’s Hospice South West!
Francijn Suermondt, Marketing Coordinator for Suttons Seeds tells us more:
“It is a privilege for Suttons Seeds to support Children’s Hospice South West by organising a Family Day on August 1st at our trial grounds and also an open weekend on the 8th and 9th August. We hope that many of the public will come along in support of this good cause, and to enjoy all our new flower, fruit and vegetable varieties!
The point of the family day is to highlight growing your own food and explains where this food comes from and also its various nutritional values. Children will have the opportunity to learn how to grow seeds and also to cook with the food they can grow. It should be a great day for fun and education, and everyone is welcome to this enjoyable event!”
Dawn Shute, member of the charity’s Torbay, Newton Abbot and District Friends Group will be at the Open Days:
“This event is a great family day out but is also really useful for keen gardeners who have questions for the experts. We will be at the Open Days at the Children’s Hospice South West stall and hope that people will come over and introduce themselves and learn a bit more about this special charity on their doorstep.”
