On the Buddleia
just how many butterflies and bees are about this year? The buddleia is all a- flutter with peacocks (my favourite), red admirals and painted ladies again, which is really good news, I’ve had to chase the odd cabbage white off the broccoli though.
The bee population is healthy too – we’ve had some huge bumble bees – and our succession of nectar rich plants, have been well attended this year. Long may it continue. The downside is that there appears to be rather more wasps as well, and they look bigger and meaner too!
My buddleia was exactly the same this weekend, covered in butterflies. There’s a photo at http://www.flickr.com/photos/38143823@N06/3812589734/
