This is what happens when a group of passionate horticulturists in Pennsylvania in the US come together and dream up the ultimate Brassica Breeding challenge. They asked the question “Would it be possible to create fluorescent pink leaf Kale?”

A project was born and referred to as the “crossover project”, designed to produce ornamental edibles and edible ornamentals! With the single objective, they set out to move the brilliant pink and red colours from traditional flowering Kales into edible brassicas.

This unbelievable plant is from a programme which took over a decade to create, including over 40,000 labour hours!
