Make a statement with the big bold blooms of Agapanthus in your flower beds and patio pots this summer. Their firework-like flowers in shades from white to purple are not only attractive to us – bees and butterflies can’t resist them either!
Agapanthus, also known as Lily-of-the-Nile or the African lily, are perennial clump-forming plants that will give you years of beautiful blooms that multiply in number as they mature.
With their delightful colours and varying heights, you’re sure to add drama to your outside space with our two new varieties available to grow from 9cm potted plants for 2021.
Enjoy the coastal colours of Agapanthus Sea Breeze
This brand-new summer flowering Agapanthus will add an exotic look to the garden with its attractive 15cm blooms in tones from white to blue atop strong and sturdy stems.
With a compact habit and featuring a more unique flower shape, Agapanthus Sea Breeze offers something different from the traditional round ball shape of others. This easy to grow variety is deciduous and hardy to -10 degrees Celsius and will delight you with months of sky-like colour each year.
Unique bi-coloured blooms
Agapanthus Sea Breeze is the most bi-coloured (or two-toned) variety available and is unique in the way that the two colours run all the way through the petals to the very tip – rather than just at the base like many others. This gives a lovely sky coloured effect as the blues fade into the centre of each petal.
Or add a pop of purple!
New evergreen Agapanthus Poppin Purple has deep purple flowers produced from stunning dark purple almost black buds unlike any other agapanthus. This variety also re-blooms, allowing it to flower for a much longer period as well.
And just when you thought it couldn’t get much better, this new variety also bulks up quicker than many varieties as well, which results in more purple flowers ‘Poppin’ up over time in your pots and garden borders.
