This competition has now closed but thank you to all those who took part. Congratulations goes to our 3 winners who each won a bundle of Suttons new flower and veg seeds.
Interested in growing something new this year? Browse through both our new vegetable seeds and colourful new flower seeds categories to learn more, or get inspired by our handpicked selection below.
Sunflower ‘Carmel’
Reaching a mature height of 1.5m, sunflower ‘Carmel’ seeds are a favourite of professional growers. The sunshine-yellow flower heads grow to about 15cm, making this pollen-free bloom ideal for vases and bouquets.
Cosmos ‘Apricot Lemonade’
Flowering early and blooming continuously throughout the summer, these unique pastel blooms open in a fruity apricot colour before fading to creamy yellow. A mauve ring in the centre acts as a beacon for pollinators. Reaching an average height of about 60cm, sow cosmos ‘Apricot Lemonade’ seeds in drifts through your borders for a light and airy feel.
Coreopsis ‘Incredible! Sea Shells Mix’
Sow the award winning coreopsis ‘Incredible! Sea Shells Mix’ seeds to brighten your late summer and autumn borders. Growing to 45cm tall, these unusual, fluted blooms add stunning splashes of gold/scarlet, burgundy/cream and burgundy/pink to your garden just as other flowers start to fade.
Climbing Bean ‘French Sunshine’
Choose Climbing Bean ‘French Sunshine’ seeds for a generous crop of tender yellow pods. Reliable and disease-resistant, these waxy beans are deliciously sweet, stringless and easy to pick as they contrast beautifully with the foliage. Simply train them against a support and enjoy a long cropping season.
Tomato ‘Lily Of The Valley’ (Organic) Seeds
This new cordon tomato is a French heirloom variety that’s also known as ‘Bryn de Muguet’. It produces prolific amounts of deep red cherry tomatoes that are highly resistant to disease. Sow and grow your tomato ‘Lily of the Valley’ seeds in a sunny spot for delicious, large and elongated fruits that are perfect for snacks, salads and cooking.
Courgette ‘Boldenice’
Harvest these stripy round courgettes when they reach the size of a golf ball to enjoy their deliciously sweet flavour. But if you prefer to wait for bigger fruits, cut them in half, stuff with your favourite filling and bake in the oven. Succession sow your courgette ‘Boldenice’ seeds from March to June and enjoy bumper crops through to the end of October.
Days are lengthening so seed orders being place. I love this time of potential.
